Oakland University Camps help high school students explore careers

I discovered that day camps aren’t only for young kids. Some, like Oakland University’s career exploration and college readiness camps in Macomb County, offer students ages 14 to 17 the opportunity to spend their summer exploring career options and participating in hands-on activities, field trips and presentations.

“So many high school seniors enter college undecided on which major to pursue so the camp experiences are a great opportunity for high school students to get hands-on experience in many of the high-growth, high-demand careers in southeast Michigan,” said Julie Trube, interim executive director of Oakland University in Macomb County.

The camps are led by the prestigious Oakland University faculty. Participants will receive a comprehensive look at emerging fields, information concerning projected employment and how to begin preparing for the future.

Cost for these interactive camps vary in price, but include transportation for scheduled field trips, lunch, snacks and a T-shirt. To learn more and register, visit www.oakland.edu/macombcamp.
