Lake St. Clair has some bad*?# bass — Bass, Brew and BBQ Festival added to 2015 event

From the moment B.A.S.S., the world’s largest fishing organization, set up its Bassmaster Elite Series tournament on Lake St. Clair two summers ago, locals were hooked. This year, B.A.S.S. is returning to Lake St. Clair, which has become known by many as the place to be for great bass fishing. After all, the fishery also boasts a Top 20 ranking on Bassmaster Magazine’s list of 100 Best Bass Lakes. This year’s event, dubbed the Plano Bassmaster Elite, will run from Aug. 27-30 at Lake St. Clair Metropark. Local hosts are the Sterling Heights Regional Chamber of Commerce and Industry and 94.7 WCSX FM.

Among those vying for the win are three additional Michigan anglers – Chad Pipkens (Holt), Jonathon VanDam (Kalamazoo) and Nate Wellman (Newaygo).
