Macomb County keeps residents/visitors warm with winter fun

In the spring, summer and fall, there’s no shortage of outdoor activities for us to enjoy. But in the winter, that’s a whole other story. Or so it seems. Although some may feel they are now resigned to a minimum four-month indoor stay in front of the fireplace, the winter months actually offer a lot of advantages when it comes to opportunities for outdoor fun, especially here in Macomb County. Below is a list of some awesome winter fun and family-approved events close by:

Cold Rush

WCSX Cold As Ice Ice Fishing Tournament
Lake St. Clair Metropark

Anchor Bay Winterfest/ Polar Bear Plunge

11th Annual Mount Clemens Chili Cook Off

11th Annual Mount Clemens Ice Carving Show

There’s also a bunch of ways to simply enjoy Macomb County nature in the winter without attending an event. Stony Creek Metropark offers a great landscape for some fun wintertime activities such as snowshoeing and cross-country skiing. Lake St. Clair is the perfect spot for ice fishing. There are also ice rinks in Fraser, St. Clair Shores and Mount Clemens that offer hockey and ice skating programs. Either way, as long as you decide to embrace the cold, Macomb County has something available for you to enjoy this winter.
