Have you heard? Home sales are UP in Macomb County and inventory is DOWN!
“Sales activity is really strong right now,” says David Elya, a member of Realcomp’s Board of Governors in a recent DBusiness article. “Spring is typically a strong time anyways, but we found that Macomb County is seeing home healthy gains over the last year. As far as the number of sales, inventory is tight right now and days on market went down a little bit too, so it’s a pretty strong market right now.”
This rush of activity makes it a good time to buy a home, but buyer beware! Don’t wait too long to make an offer, the number of days has dropped from about 78 days three years ago to 52 days. Additionally, Macomb County home sales rose more than 13 percent with 1,047 sales in the month of April, and median home sale prices increased by more than 5 percent when compared year over year to $139,050.
Combined with available down payment assistance programs through Michigan State Housing Development Authority, now is a great time to find your new home in Macomb County.
Want to dip your toe in the home buying market? A fun way to get started is to attend an open house to see for yourself what your dollar will buy in any of Macomb County’s 27 communities. Starting now, MMYH’s Facebook page will feature an especially interesting Open House of the Week along with a complete list of homes available for purchase.
Happy house hunting!
