1 – Anchor Bay Triathlon
Are you or somebody you know looking for a great race in the Anchor Bay area? The Anchor Bay Triathlon is the perfect short triathlon for those competitive racers and new racers alike. On Saturday, July 9 start off with a half-mile swim in Lake St. Clair, followed by an 11-mile bike around New Baltimore, then finished by a three-mile run near the historic downtown. Race check-in is at 6 a.m., race begins at 7 a.m. Don’t think you can finish as an individual? Find two friends that want to join you and you can race as a team. 2 – New Baltimore Farmers Market 2016 Annual Health and Wellness Day
The New Baltimore Farmers Market is holding its 2016 Annual Health and Wellness Day from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Sunday, July 10. The ‘Buy Nearby Guy’ (BNG) will be joining them again at the market (more info at http://buynearbymi.com/) and will be walking around the market, park and downtown New Baltimore area to visit with people and hand out info, coupons, prizes, etc. This special event day features a wide variety of vendors as well as special guests, informational booths, activities, community groups, music and food.
3 – Chesterfield Township Historical Society World War II Re-enactment
This weekend the Chesterfield Township Historical Society will host the Michigan Military Technical Society in a World War II re-enactment. The event will feature both an Allied and Axis encampment for public displays with two public battles on both Saturday and Sunday. In addition, military vehicles will be on display and various vendors will be on site. The Historical Society is suggesting a donation of $1 per adult or $2 per family. Food and drink will be available for purchase.
4 – Vince and Joe’s Gourmet Market 3rd Annual Festa Buon Appetito
On Sunday, July 10 Vince and Joe’s Gourmet Market is hosting its 3rd Annual Festa Buon Appetito! Viva Italia with authentic Italian street food and music! Enjoy “lotsa” family fun from 11 a.m. until 7 p.m. at the Vitale Plaza at the Shelby Township location. A variety of delicious food will be sold, and there will be a children’s tent and high performance vehicles on display from Fiat of Lakeside, Ducati of Detroit and Alfa Romeo.
5 – Anton Art Center’s annual Student and Faculty Show
From 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, July 9, the Anton Art Center is hosting its annual Student and Faculty Show opening reception. The exhibition will run until Aug. 31. Come see the art created by youth and adult students, plus instructors, of the Anton Art Center 2015- 2016 Art Education Program. All artworks to be displayed in the gallery on the second floor of the Art Center.
