1 – Women’s Wellness Day
Celebrate Women’s Health from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 15 at the Thompson Family Resource Center in Warren. Activities include cooking demonstrations, zumba classes, health services such as mammograms and blood pressure checks, plus a free catered lunch and pampering spa services. (Macomb County Executive Mark A. Hackel is conducting a self-defense class at 10:30 a.m.!) This event is free for all and will be held at The Thompson Center, 11370 Hupp Ave in Warren.womens-wellness
2 – Halloween Spooktacular at Riverbends Park
On Saturday, Oct. 15, bring the family to Riverbends Park in Shelby Township for some frightfully fun games and goodies, plus take part in the Trunk or Treat where children go from car to car to collect candy and other treats from the other participants.The event is hosted by the Shelby Township Parks & Recreation. 3 – Fashion Through the Decades at the Ford House
The Edsel & Eleanor Ford House (Ford House) is partnering with Fashion and the Automobile for a one of a kind evening of dinner and entertainment. From 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Oct. 15, guests will be treated to dinner and a multimedia fashion show that celebrates vintage fashions from the dawn of the automobile through the 1960s immediately followed by Steve London and his renowned tribute to the legendary Dean Martinfashionthroughthedecades. Live models will take to the catwalk to show off styles from each era, showcasing how women’s fashion and the development of the automobile are intrinsically connected. The evening will also be the final opportunity to see the Women Who Motor exhibit, which has been on display in the Ford House historic garage since 2014. Tickets to the fashion show and gourmet dinner, which includes beer and wine and the option of chicken picatta or eggplant napoleon, are $50 for members and $55 for non-members, and are available at www.fordhouse.org or by calling (313) 884.4222.

4 – Kuhnhenn Oktoberfest
Come celebrate Bavarian culture with traditional German beer, food and atmosphere with Kuhnhenn Brewing Co. at their Warren Taproom on Friday, Oct. 14 and Saturday, Oct. 15.  Along with authentic beer and cuisine, there will be live music, costumes and Bavarian-themed games! 5 – Richmond Volunteer Fire Department Open House
The Richmond Volunteer Fire Department is hosting an Open House on Sunday, Oct. 16. A pancake breakfast will be served from 8:30 a.m. to noon with the Open House & kids activities from noon to 3 p.m. The Open House will include fire science demonstrations, a kid’s firefighter obstacle course, fire truck rides and a bake sale. Weather and mission permitting, the helicopter, Beaumont One, will land at the Fire Hall. Located at the Richmond Fire Hall, 69465 Main Street, Richmond, 48062.
