Culinary delights on display at Rising Stars Academy’s Night Under the Stars

RSA pic 2As you enter into the Night Under the Stars evening at Detroit’s Eastern Market, you will be immediately welcomed into a very comfortable, yet elegant, space. Early in the evening, you will find the hustle and bustle of young chefs gathering ingredients and preparing their plates to present to judges in a Chopped-style culinary competition. Local experienced chefs, college students and students from Rising Stars Academy will spend the first hour of the evening using their culinary skills to make mouthwatering dishes that will be judged and awarded medals.

During the competition, you may sample food and desserts from various local restaurants and foodie establishments and taste locally brewed beer, wine and spirits. Peruse the silent auction table where you can bid on some amazing items from various vendors. You can enjoy all this along with music and the company of people who are out to enjoy a great evening while supporting a great organization.

Intermixed with these vendors who are donating their time and food products to raise money for Rising Stars Academy, you will find the academy’s students eager to help serve you drinks and food at the school’s table. It is evident that the students at Rising Stars Academy are quick to please and very proud of their school and the skills that they have acquired during their time there. The smiles and pride that exude from each student warms the heart of every person who attends.

The evening ends with the announcement of the winners of the cooking competition – along with some amazing live auction items. You can bid on items that are made at the school, a charter fishing trip, catered dinner for six at your home and Rising Stars Academy’s famous distinction of naming the chicken coop at the school.
