The wineries of Macomb County – The Traverse City feeling, right in your backyard

wintrailThe weekend is over, everyone is back to work and school. One of the best ways to survive a Monday is by starting to think ahead to next weekend. What should I do, where should I go, and who should I invite. Thanks to Macomb County’s agriculture, you do not have to go far to enjoy some relaxing time on a date or a fun night with the girls laughing.

Macomb County is the home to nine local wineries and it continues to grow. These wineries have so much to offer from sweet and dry wines, to fruity creations. Every place has something unique to set them apart. With these wineries in our backyard you no longer have to go to Traverse City.

If you are interested in having a weekend away, check out the Thumbs Up Wine Trail which promotes tourism and the southeastern Michigan wine industry. The tour includes 12 wineries in the thumb region, seven right here in the Macomb County.

Take a minute and check out the list of wineries in Macomb County. Decide which one fits your mood for next weekend. Be sure to check back. With wine production up more than 34 percent over the past five years, we may be adding additional ones to the list!
In addition to a night out, most of these wineries offer classes, art, and much more. Be sure to check out their programs.
