I love me some sweet treats. I enjoy eating donuts, cookies, brownies, and cupcakes. Some say I have a sweet problem, but clearly, I say, I don’t have a problem eating sweets at all. Especially since I’m known around Macomb County as the food czar. As part of my job I work with businesses to help them grow, so naturally, I have to try the treats in order to help the business.
Like any normal cloudy Michigan day while driving around you want something to brighten it up. As I was driving through beautiful Roseville, I naturally had to turn into a business that had the word SWEETS on the building. Enjoya Sweets.
I walked right in with a big smile on my face. I had to clear my eyes twice to make sure I was really seeing what I thought I was seeing. A donut the size of a person’s entire hand. You could easily put 3 regular donuts next to anyone of Enjoya Sweets donuts and it would still look like Pewie Herman flexing next to Arnold Swarzenegger.
I spent an hour and a half talking with the owners and asking questions and learning about their business. Here are a few things that I learned.
Marlena and her two sisters, Leslie and Karmen, opened this bakery in September of 2017 making donuts, cupcakes, cookies, cakes, and other delicious baked goods. It is very clean and nicely decorated with inviting colors and smells of freshly baked goods. Family members make the delicious cakes and cupcakes in back. I hear they make a tasty German Chocolate cake. I tried the pound cake and red velvet cupcakes, which I happened to take some to go.
While there, I talked to customers stopping in, for many, it was their first time as well. They too had the same look on their face. Other customers I talked to, stop in frequently. One couple not only bought a little of everything while I was there, they came back for more about an hour later.
One customer, Brandon, introduced himself and said he works the night shift so when he gets off of work, his girlfriend and him stop into Enjoya Sweets. They both talked about how wonderful this little store was and the family that owns it. Imagine a man the size of a professional football player with a million dollar smile. That was Brandon.
There is one thing I love most about small food business owners. They know you by name and they treat their customers well. Enjoy Sweets is just another example of a family working hard to make ends meet while baking tasty baked goods.

Rumor has it that they are looking to offer soft serve ice cream starting this summer.
